Quote of the Day!

"...I'm so happy, cause today I found a friend..."
"... I'm so ugly, that's OK cause so are you..." I'm sorry I coudn't resist it!
I'm really happy today because I finally got a hold of a beloved friend. She is very special for me. Try putting all the best qualities one can have together and then you have Dani, my friend!
I grew up in a small town in the southern part of Brazil. Loved ones might say I was spoiled. Spoiled to the fact that I was in my early 20's when I first rode on a city bus for the first time in my life. I know, you're probably asking yourself: And what does it have to do with Dani?... That is how our friendship started. When I graduated from high school I decided to see the world beyond my window and went to Porto Alegre, another southern city in Brazil. Porto, as the gauchos say, is one of the largests cities in my coutry. That is where I went to college and where I met Dani. I missed my very first day in college because I took the wrong bus and got lost. I finally made it on the second day. I sat down in class, very shy, looked around and saw this cute blond girl. She had a very friendly look. The next day I saw the same girl on the bus. We got talking and she patiently explained to me how to take the bus. Our friendship was born! So many adventures together. Regular boring busses. Musical busses. Killer butterflies.... Boy, I miss those days!! We managed to stay in contact as we grew older and life took us different ways. Until one day when I lost my hotmail account along with my contact list. Since then, I developed the habit of "googling" her name. I wanted to know what was going on with Dani. A few days ago I found an email address that could, maybe, lead me to her. This morning I received a 'pop up" from my msn saying that Dani had added me as a contact. We already chatted for a few minutes.... But it is going to take many hours for us to catch up. Welcome back to my life Dani!!! I love you and missed you so much!! And, of course, thank you Google for serving as the missing link between us, we promise we'll never loose touch again :)

About the washed ups...
So, LA is very excited welcoming The Beckams. David Backham will be paying soccer for the LA Galaxy (for those who didn't know... Yes, LA has a soccer team) for the next _____ years. But no matter how well he plays the beautiful sport of stealing the ball from the other team, he is already considered a celebrity. But the "real motive" that made the Beckhams move to LA is, as they say (they? yes, the ones that understand about soccer), his age. He is 32!! He is washed up already..... It is amazing how it works for some "careers". You're not in your 20's anymore, so please, move. Give room for the next generation. A few nights ago I was watching The Henry Rollins Show (check it out, every Friday @ 8PM on IFC) and he decides to write a letter in support to Beckham . Henry, as well, has been considered washed up for a long time now. And he is still in his 30's!!
My question is: How old do you have to be, to be considered washed up? I'm 30 and I feel like I have all the time in the world. Am I being a Kennedy?! How old are you? Do you consider yourself washed up? I hope not!!

Quote of the day!
"I like work; it fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours. I love to keep it by me; the idea of getting rid of it nearly breaks my heart." Jerome K. Jerome (1859-1927)
I come to realize that I was born to work. I like to wake up in the morning knowing that I have work to do. What I haven't figured out yet is the type of work I like. Today I want to be a History teacher. Who knows about tomorrow!!!
